Dog Friendly Holidays in Cornwall

Cornwall is a haven for dog lovers. With endless stunning walks and plenty of dog-friendly attractions, there’s no better place to enjoy time away with your four-legged friend.

One of the best reasons to choose a dog-friendly holiday in Cornwall is the sheer choice of dog-friendly beaches and woodland glens that you can explore together. From the wide sandy shores of Par Sands in the south to scenic walks along the Camel Trail in the north – and from the cascading beauty of Golitha Falls to the rugged expanse of Bodmin Moor at the heart of Cornwall – there is something to discover in every direction.

Cornwall also understands how important it is for visitors to be able to take their pets with them to explore visitor attractions, which is why so many local attractions welcome dogs. Whether you are soaking up culture at the Minack Theatre, stepping back in time at Tintagel Castle or discovering the Eden Project, your dog doesn’t have to be left behind. Take a look at other fabulous Cornish attractions that welcome dogs.

And when it is time to relax, you will find no shortage of charming villages with dog-friendly pubs or vibrant beachside bars where your canine companion can join you.

What part of Cornwall is most dog-friendly?

The most dog-friendly towns and villages in Cornwall have fabulous dog walks, eateries that welcome dogs with open arms and dog-friendly cottages galore. Our picks include:

St Ives – Voted one of the UK’s top ten dog-friendly destinations, St Ives’ stunning beaches offer plenty of opportunities for a game of fetch, while inland you will find a host of cafes with outdoor seating where you and the dog can relax afterwards.

Carbis Bay – A fantastic destination for dog-friendly holidays, Carbis Bay’s Blue Flag beach welcomes dogs for most of the year. There are some restrictions over the summer months; between May and September dogs can only visit before 10am and after 6pm. But this doesn’t mean there aren’t other dog-friendly options to explore. Warmer weather is the perfect opportunity to head to Steeple Woods, where there are 40 acres to wander, much of it offering cool woodland shade. If you and your dog like to stretch your legs on a long walk, the coastal path runs through Carbis Bay, offering miles of coastal landscape to traverse.

Lelant – For dogs that just can’t get enough of sea and sand, Porthkidney Beach in Lelant is dog-friendly year-round without any restrictions. The dune-filled, mile-long beach offers plenty of space to roam, unless you visit at high tide when the beach almost disappears into the water.

Hayle – A dream dog-friendly holiday location for owners of restless pups, Hayle has plenty of opportunities to exercise their legs and noses. Hayle Towans Beach offers wide stretches of sandy shoreline, enough that even with dogs restricted to certain areas in summer, there’s plenty of space for them to explore. Nearby is Tehidy Country Park, which has 250 acres of forest and over 9 miles of paths to trek, with plenty of woodland and wildlife scents to keep your dog’s brain busy too.

Port Isacc – With a dog-friendly holiday based in Port Isacc, there’s no shortage of beaches for you and your dog to discover. The harbour beach offers room to roam at low tide, but if your dog needs more space to stretch their legs, nearby Port Gaverne Beach is fully dog-friendly. Or head over to Polzeath Beach to dip into rock pools and take a splash in the sea.

With so much to see and do together, dog-friendly holidays in Cornwall are perfect for making memories that last.
