St Ives
St Ives
Discover St Ives, Cornwall, a world-renowned holiday destination with numerous attractions that never fails to delight visitors. You can explore the small, cobbled streets and enjoy the multitude of individual shops, and St Ives restaurants or wander the quaint Downalong area that borders the harbour and is bedecked in flowers throughout the summer. Step back in time and reflect on St Ives’ fishing heritage through a lens of nautical blues and whites, set amongst a backdrop of glistening ocean and sand.
St Ives is enveloped by magnificent award-winning beaches, offering visitors safe bathing as well as various activities including surfing, diving, boat trips and fishing. The increasingly cosmopolitan “feel” is enhanced by a variety of culinary influences, with many superb St Ives restaurants specialising in fresh seafood. The town is famous as an art centre, and many artists have been drawn to St Ives with much of their work displayed at local galleries including the prestigious Tate Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth Museum.
There are two short stay car parks at Porthmeor (30 spaces) and at The Sloop (42 spaces) where your maximum stay is just three hours. Pricing in these short stay car parks is higher, so if you are planning to stay for more than a few hours then the long-stay car parks make more sense. There are numerous long stay car parks in St Ives, so we’d recommend planning ahead and checking out the Cornwall Council website to see the most appropriate car park for your plans for the day.
