Join in The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in Cornwall
Like the rest of the country, we’re very excited about The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend here in Cornwall. As the Queen is the first British Monarch to ever celebrate a Platinum Jubilee there is plenty of cause for celebration!

On Friday, 3 June, at Pencarrow House and Gardens in Bodmin they’ll be celebrating in classical style with local string ensemble, the Atlantic Strings playing in their lovely courtyard. St Michael’s Mount will be celebrating in style with several special events in the lead up to and over the Jubilee weekend. As well as tree planting and a commemorative beacon being lit at 9.15 pm on Thursday, 2 June, there is also a special opening of the Mount’s gardens from 1.00 pm until 4.30 pm on Saturday, 4 June whilst the causeway is open. If your more of a machine-lover than a nature-lover then Newquay might be the best spot for you. On Saturday, 4 June at 6.00 pm, as part of the Newquay Lion’s Platinum Jubilee Parade, there will be a showcase of scooters, tractors and trailers styled up to represent the decades of the Queens 70-year reign. You can enjoy free entry to The Eden Project on Sunday, 5 June as they celebrate The Big Jubilee Lunch as part of the official Jubilee celebrations for HM The Queen. Visitors will be in for a treat with live entertainment, craft activities and games. Take your own picnic and join in the fun! Entrance is ticketed and timed – you can get your tickets here
In St Ives the Platinum Jubilee Street Party takes place on the Wharf on Sunday, 5 June. Everyone is invited to join in the fun and with many local restaurants and delicacies to try, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Local entertainers will bring the party atmosphere and, of course, no celebration will be complete without fireworks which will commence at 10.00 pm! (Please be advised that diversions for traffic will be in place from 8.30 am – 11.00 pm).
